Statistics: Russia’s annual inflation slows to 2.3% in February
MOSCOW, Mar 6 (PRIME) -- Russia’s annual inflation slowed to 2.3% in February from 2.4% in January and amounted to 0.3% in February after 0.4% in January, the Federal State Statistics Service said on Friday.
“Prices for several types of fruit and vegetables rose significantly: for fresh cucumbers by 19.5%, tomatoes by 12.4%, garlic by 11.1%, grapes by 8%. The decrease of orange prices continued, and amounted to 1.6%,” the authority said.
Egg prices fell by 5.9%, pork, mutton, poultry, white rice, millet prices fell by 1.0–2.7%, hamburger price fell by 0.9%, frozen fish by 0.4%.
Live and cooled fish, buckwheat, pasta, noodles, sterilized milk, vegetable baby food and grape wine prices rose by 0.8–1.2%.
